Mother’s Day Smoothie Recipes

Ms Ceridwen Wolf of Zenxin Organic Food has created two smoothie recipes made with fresh and nutritious ingredients.The Banana Blitz smoothie contains bone-strenthening ingredients whereas the Strawberry Smoothie is beneficial for healthy skin. Delicious and nutritious, both are perfect treats for Mum on Mother’s Day!

Banana Blitz




Banana Blitz

Calcium levels need to be replenished daily. Here, the combination of almonds and yoghurt provides this quick fix with the added benefit of acidophilus and ginger to aid digestion. The potassium-laden banana also helps lessen calcium excretion, minimizing loss of calcium from the body. This simple treat is not just tasty, it strengthens your bones as well!

You will need:

3 small Zenxin organic bananas

6 soaked raw almonds

1 cup plain organic acidophilus yoghurt

1 small piece of young organic ginger

1 tbsp wild raw honey



Peel the bananas and the ginger and add all ingredients into a blender.

Blend and enjoy!


Strawberry Smoothie

Potent with protective power, the heart-shaped strawberry contains Vit C, phytochemical ellagic acid and fibre to help protect your heart, reduce cholesterol as well as risk of cancer. Not only that, this combination reduces wrinkles by preventing collagen destruction and inflammation from UV rays. It’s a delicious treat for younger-looking skin! For great flavour and health benefits, organic strawberries are preferred in this recipe.

You will need:

454g fresh organic strawberries

1 cup plain organic acidophilus yoghurt

2 tbsp wild raw honey

4 cups of fresh organic milk



Place all the ingredients in the blender and blend till a beautiful pink colour results.
